Adelene L. (Scott) Flenner

Adelene L. Flenner, 86, Peru, formerly of Macy, passed away at 8:23 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.

Born November 16, 1928 in Jefferson Township, Miami County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Otto and Esther E. Erlenbaugh Scott.  On January 24, 1948 at the home of her parents, she was married to Donald D. Flenner, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2010.

Adelene was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana.  She was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church in Mexico, Miami County Republican Women, Allen Township Extension Homemakers Club, and the United Methodist Women.  She enjoyed fishing, polka dancing, and playing cards.

Survivors include four children, Cindy Jo Walker and husband Richard, Columbia City; Thomas Fayne Flenner and fiancee Carolyn Coffing, Warsaw; Amy Robison and husband Doug, Peru; and Julie Kepes, Peru; nine grandchildren, Gregg Flenner, Danny Flenner, Brooke Clawson, Lindsay Robison, Emily Stefanko, Beth Andrews, Brian Walker, Jacob Kepes and Hannah Kepes; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death were brothers, Carl and Ellis Scott, and three sisters, Hattie Bernard, Alma Meeks, and Edna Griswold.

Funeral services will be held on the date of Don and Adelene’s sixty-seventh anniversary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at McClain Funeral Home with Pastor J. Robert Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
