Betty Louise Richardson Opple Teel, 94, Rochester, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Hickory Creek of Rochester, Indiana.
Born March 22, 1924, in Miami County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Herman and Edith Richardson. She was married to Ralph E. Opple, and then to Joseph E. Teel, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a member of the former Denver Brethren Church. For several years, she worked at Senger’s Dry Goods in Peru. Betty was a homemaker for much of her life, known for her beef and noodles, potato salad, bean salad, and apple salad, and her homemade corn soup. She enjoyed getting out of the house, going to town, and visiting with others. She liked Betty Boop and the Chicago Cubs.
She is survived by three daughters, Sonja K. Miller (Larry), Perrysburg; Patrica L. Coffing, Monticello; and Jolynn “Jo” Troyer (Gary), Macy; ten grandchildren, Gail Lynn (Randy) Troyer, Cody Joe (Rynae) Miller, Chad Schneider, Zack (Lauren) Schneider, Jessica (Larry) Green, Rod Coffing, Tonya (Kyle) O’Farrell, Laynie Rouch, Abbey Rouch, Chelsea (James) Simpson; twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Debra Kay Cornelison, one great-grandson, Trevon Patrick Browning, five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor David Noel and Rev. George Hapner officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the funeral home.
