Born June 26, 1930, in Cass County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Wayne and Fern (Morts) Sutton. On June 26, 1949, she was married to Richard Coffman, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2006.
Carolyn had been a homemaker, raising her six children and helping on the family farm.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Logansport, Indiana, where she had been a sixty-year member and active in the children’s and women’s groups. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, serving as a volunteer E.M.T. and had served on the Macy-Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Survivors include six children, Connie and her husband, George Rigert, Antioch, Illinois; Sam Coffman and his wife, Peggy, Wabash; Veronica Lamb and her husband, Glenn, Columbus, Ohio; Dixie Withers and her husband, Ron, Macy; Perry Coffman and his wife, Diane, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Chris Coffman and his wife, Patty, Macy; thirty-five grandchildren; and sixty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday November 12, 2020, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Burial will follow in Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Macy-Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department.
