Charles Leon Mcdougle

Charles Leon McDougle, 72, Kokomo, passed away at 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Born January 15, 1942 in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Ervin Leon and Viola Marie Smith McDougle. On November 30, 1963 in St. Albans, Vermont, he was married to the former Carol Lee Benjamin, and survives.

After graduating from Jefferson Township High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. He retired after thirty-eight years from Indiana Bell in Kokomo. He had been a member of the Denver United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion at Walton, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife and two children, Craig S. McDougle, Kokomo, and Curt J. McDougle, Denver; two grandchildren, Cayla M. Walker, Kokomo; and Steven Lee Coffman, Florida; one sister, Sharon Proctor, San Jose, California; and one brother, Ronald McDougle, Hunterstown, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Steven McDougle.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. A funeral procession to Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill will leave immediately after the visitation time and the Miami County Military Rites Team will present military honors at the cemetery.
