David Bender Zartman

David Bender Zartman 78, Twelve Mile, Indiana, passed away at 11:09 A.M. Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Logansport Memorial Hospital, Logansport, Indiana.

He was born on September 27, 1935 in Twelve Mile, Indiana, the son of the late John George and F. Irene (Jones) Zartman. On February 25, 1956 in Akron, Indiana he married Barbara Joann Arthur and she survives.

Mr. Zartman had worked for Kraft Foods for over twenty years, Gearhart Feed & Grain and for Mexico Elevator, and for many years, he was a salesman, selling advertising and promotional items. He was a member of the Twelve Mile United Methodist Church and had attended Deedsville United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, college basketball, playing cards and games, and loved to visit with family and friends, and over the years, Dave spent many hours visiting with community members in the hospital and local nursing homes. Dave being sociable, never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joann Zartman, Twelve Mile, Indiana, children, Twila and husband Kevin Childress, Sharpsville, Indiana, Robin Spencer and fiance' Larry Freeman, Royal Center, Indiana, David Mark Zartman, Twelve Mile, Indiana, grandchildren, Shannon and husband Henry Torres, Logansport, Indiana, Adam Spencer, Logansport, Indiana, Melisa and husband Tony Holmes, Sharpsville, Indiana, Joshua Cree, Twelve Mile, Indiana, great grandchildren, Anthony and Rianna Torres, Logansport, Indiana, aunt, Jane Jones, Galveston, Indiana, cousins, Steve and wife Marianne Jones, Kim and wife Debbie Jones, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary and husband Richard Wood, Harvey and wife Peggy Arthur.

Funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Friday February 28, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
