David Lee “Tinker” Burton, 68, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Hickory Creek of Peru.
Born May 28, 1951, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of the late Otha Bell Hawk Burton and Walter Eli Burton.
David was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church. He had worked at Redmon Basket Factory, Gateway Services, and Bona Vista, all in Peru.
Survivors include his siblings, Myrtle (David) Correll, Logansport; Betty Gebhardt, Logansport; Geraldine Correll, Converse; Walter Burton, Jr., Wisconsin; George Kenneth (Patty) Burton, Peru; Linda Sue Waymire, Peru; and Jane Burton, Peru; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Oliver Eugene Burton; two sisters, Nancy Mae Hunt, and Mary Ann Denham; and one cousin that was raised as a brother, Charles Robert Hawk.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at the Mexico Baptist Church, Mexico, Indiana, with Pastor Kyle Schnitz officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky.
Vistiation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
