Dean Wayne Flannery, 52, Denver, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at his residence.
Born July 9, 1958 in Denison, Iowa he was the son of Forest L. and Korleen Dean Flannery. On June 18, 1978 in Peru, Indiana he was married to Deborah Lou Rogers, and she survives.
Dean graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1976. He then joined the United States Air Force and proudly served until 1980. Dean owned and operated MCM Machine Company and Lanjax Trophies and Engravings, both of rural Denver. He was a proud member of the NRA. Dean loved animals and enjoyed taking care of his dogs and cats.
Survivors include his wife Deb, Denver; mother Korleen Hall, Mapleton, Iowa; two sons Donn Fredrick Whitenight and his wife Laura, Rochester; and Jason Scott Whitenight and wife Brenda, Kokomo; five grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dakota, Cherokee, Caitlyn, and Emily Whitenight; one brother, Denis Flannery, Danbury, Iowa; two sisters, Diane Gosch, Mapleton, Iowa; Deneen Schrank, Independence, MO; his step grandmother, Mary Lou Flannery, Springport, IN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Pastor Brad Eckerley officiating. The family invites friends and family to dress casually for the services. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver with military honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
