Delores Ella Mae Laycock Leffel Hodson, 97, Peru, and formerly of rural Mexico, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru.
Born February 17, 1917 in Cass County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Dorsie and Ruby Geraldine Kelly Laycock. On August 28, 1937, she was married to William H. Leffel, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1987. She was then married on May 14, 1991 to Carl Hodson, and he survives.
Delores was a member of the nondenominational Christian meeting and had attended New Waverly School.
Other survivors include three sons, David Leffel and wife Virginia, Peru; Steve Leffel and wife Mary, Ft. Wayne; Stanley Leffel and wife Jan, Tennessee; two step-children, David Hodson and wife Brenda, Columbus, Ohio; and Carla Perry and husband Maurice, New Plymouth, New Zealand; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Leffel, Peru; and Cynthia Leffel, Perrysburg; one brother-in-law, Jack Austin, Converse; sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, William and Tom Leffel, one brother, Oliver Laycock; one sister, Mary Louise Hunter; two grandchildren, Charlotte Holden and Aaron Leffel; two sisters-in-law, Janet Austin and Helen Johnson; and two brothers-in-law, Bob and Richard Hodson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Jeff Thayer, Nathan Pedigo, and Scott Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
