Dennis Eugene Flora

Dennis Eugene Flora, 79, rural Peru, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at his residence.

Born April 14, 1941, in Carroll County, Indiana, he was the son of Mose and Ruby (Skiles) Flora.  On November 3, 1962, he was married to Julia Kinzie, and she survives.

He graduated from Camden High School in 1959 and was a member of the Mexico Old German Baptist Brethren Church.  He was the founder and former owner of DEFCO, Inc. in Twelve Mile.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Flora, Peru; one son, Brian (Kim) Flora, Peru; one daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Long, North Manchester; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Flora, Claypool; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Kay) Flora, Delphi; and Clayton (Peggy) Flora, Rossville; two sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Diehl, Camden; and Betty (James) Beery, Goshen; two brothers-in-law, Forrest (Anna Mae) Kinzie, Twelve Mile; and Eldon Kinzie, Logansport; and one sister-in-law, Ellen (Tom) Flick, West Manchester, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jeffery D. Flora on March 3, 2018; an infant grandson Nicholas Flora; one infant brother, one infant sister, one brother-in-law, Stanley Kinzie; and one sister-in-law, Mildred Kinzie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Miami County Community Building at the Miami County 4-H Fairgrounds, 1079 W 200 N, Peru, Indiana, with the Home Brethren of the Mexico Old German Baptist Brethren Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-5:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at McClain Funeral Home, 3500 West State Road 16, Denver, Indiana.
