Donald D. Flenner, 84, Peru, formerly of Macy, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born Dec. 4, 1925, in Perry Township, Miami County, he was the son of Fayne and Edna Berger Flenner. He was married Jan. 24, 1948, to Adelene Scott, in the home of her mother in Mexico. Adelene survives in Peru.
He was a member of New Life United Methodist Church in Mexico. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Miami County Farm Bureau, an avid golfer, IU basketball fan, Colts fan and enjoyed dancing. He lived and wintered in Florida for nine years. He enjoyed family and friends.
Also surviving are four children, Cindy Jo Walker and husband Richard, Columbia City, Thomas Fayne Flenner and fiancAC. Carolyn Coffing, Warsaw, Amy Robison and husband Doug, Peru, and Julie Kepes and husband Frank, Peru; nine grandchildren, Gregg Flenner, Danny Flenner, Brooke Robison, Lindsay Robison, Emily Stefanko, Beth Andrews, Brian Walker, Jacob Kepes and Hannah Kepes; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Estel Flenner, Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Galen Flenner.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McClain Funeral Home in Denver with the Rev. Bob Clark officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Life United Methodist Church.
