Donald Eugene Fouts

Donald Eugene Fouts, 84, rural Peru, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, Indiana.
Born on December 27, 1926 on his family farm in northern Miami County, he was the son of Alvin Isaac and Alice Edna Gottschalk Fouts. He was married to Nell Jane Howard on October 31, 1946 at the home of the late Rev. C.F. Golden near Denver, and she survives.
Don was a farmer and enjoyed working and living off of his family's land. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He also retired from Peru Utilities.
Survivors include his five children, Howard E. Fouts and his wife Dorothy, Frankfort, Kentucky; Donna M. Leedy, Peru; Gina D. France and her husband Mike, Phoenix, Arizona; Christina J. Crowe and husband David, Brookston; and Vern K. Fouts, Peru; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and one brother, Gerald Fouts.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
