Donald Alan “Boco” Kling, 93, Peru, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Hickory Creek of Peru.
Born November 18, 1930, in Miami County, Indiana, he was the son of Osa Clymer and Angal Mary (Childers) Kling. On January 21, 1953, in Mexico, Indiana, he was married to Janice D. Howell, and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2021.
He was a graduate of Clay Township High School in southern Miami County. After graduation and marrying Janice, he served in the United States Army overseas in Germany. He returned home to Miami County, where he and Janice farmed outside of Mexico. He was a longtime member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren and also was a member of Pioneer Power of North Central Indiana.
For forty-three years, he drove a bus for North Miami Community Schools. He loved to garden, spending time collecting antique tractors and working on them, and interacting/teasing the kids on his bus route.
Survivors include his children, Bob and Coleen (Hudson) Kling, Peru; Peggy Bough, Nappanee; and Lee Ann (Kevin) Musselman, Mexico; grandchildren, Andrea (Brad) Aquino, Colorado; Robert (Jenny) Kling, Peru; Katie (Derek) Hagan, Sheridan; Emily (Garrett) Hite, Kokomo; Casey (Jonathon) Bowles, French Lick; Michael Bough (Shelby Carroll), South Bend; Brandon (Lacie) Fouts, Winona Lake; Lucas (Whitney) Fouts, Wakarusa; and Kyle (Samantha) Fouts, Kokomo; twenty great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Cyrus (Pat) Howell, Peru.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters, Helen Marguerite Mendell, Kathleen Lois Dunn, and Anita Jeanette Goodwin; and one brother, Raymond Everett Kling.
Private services were held for the family; burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
