Donald Eugene Wise, Jr., 58, Denver, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at his residence.
Born December 22, 1952 in Logansport, Indiana he was the son of Donald Eugene Wise, Sr. and Doris Anne Willy Wise.
After graduating from Logansport High School in 1971, he went to work for Rockwell Standard now known as Matthew-Warren, where he worked for thirty-nine years. He went to school part-time for seven years becoming first a machinist and then a tool and die maker. He was passionate about his occupation and dedicated to his fellow workers.
Don was an avid mushroom hunter and fisherman. His favorite pastime, besides being a die-hard Colts fan, was spending time at his campsite by the river. He enjoyed reading, especially scientific and nature journals. He was a great handyman and enjoyed building projects with wood.
He is survived by his parents who reside in Logansport; one daughter, Tara Drumm and her husband Jason, along with their children, Victoria "Tori" and Devon, all of Bryant, Indiana; three siblings, Pamela Weber and husband Paul, Batesville, Indiana; Madonna Lorraine and husband Ron, Houston, Texas; and Gene Wise and wife Tracy, Columbus, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister Cynthia Anne Wise preceded him in death as well as his grandparents, Ethel and Victor, Sr., Willy and Joy Wise and John Wise.
A memorial gathering will be held at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, on Saturday October 15, 2011 from 1-3:00 p.m. There will be private burial at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation.
