Dorothy Louise Swoverland, 94, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Life Care Center, Rochester.
Born March 13, 1917 near Macy, Indiana she was the daughter of the late David Edgar and Hazel Marie Hopper Chapin. On June 10, 1950 she was married to Robert Gail Swoverland, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 1989.
Dorothy was a member of the Deedsville United Methodist Church, and she retired in 1982 from Olin Corporation.
She leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Joe Swoverland, Judy Ashbaugh, Jeri Ann Johnson, Vicki Johnson, Edward Dillman, Robert Dillman, D. Kay Riggs, Barbara Stoeckert, and Larry Dillman, along with all of their families. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Chapin, and one nephew, Jack Swoverland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Deedsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Babb officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
