Duane Curtis Bean, 52, Rochester, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at his residence.
Born September 16, 1968, in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the son of Raymond Bean and Themla Louise Hackbarth Bean.
He is the brother of Stacey (Shawn) Dyson, Grand Rapids; and Michael (Amber) Bean, Peru.
He married Loretta Grace Johnson on January 17, 1987, in Mexico, Indiana, and together had two children, Jacqueline N. G. Bean and Austin Curtis Bean. He was then married to Dusty La-Dawn Arwood Bean on February 22, 2020.
Duane worked at Chrysler for seven years, then found his love for truck driving and began driving over the road. He could drive any route without even needing a map. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything he touched. In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley, camping, cooking and grilling out, and working in his shop. He could walk in a room and always make a friend. His laugh was contagious and would absolutely light up telling old trucking stories or singing a song. Duane was a remarkable man and left a standing impression on anyone who he met.
He is survived by his wife, Dusty La-Dawn Bean and her grandson, Raylen Bowyer; his first wife, Loretta G. Johnson Bean, Peru and their two children, Jacqueline N.G. Bean (Alexander Ward), Peru; and Austin Curtis (Hannah) Bean, Bunker, Hill; grandson, Jaxson DeWayne Long, Peru; and daughter, Gabriella H. Harper, Alabama. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Brandon M. Bean, Brandy N. Bean, Taylor E. Bean, Nicholas R. Cambell, and Megan R. Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Thelma Bean; and grandparents, John Henry and Ruth Bean and Samuel and Fanny Mae Hackbarth.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
He will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana, with a procession leaving from McClain Funeral Home on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed towards the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
