E. Marcella (Bailey) Angle

Marcella Angle, 97, died at her home near New Waverly, Indiana, at 11:45 a.m. on Friday morning, December 4, 2015, attended by her son.

Esther Marcella Bailey was born east of Peru, Indiana, on October 28, 1918, the daughter of the late Whitfield and Avice Reed Bailey.  After Mr. Bailey’s death in 1925, Mrs. Bailey took her six children to be raised on her parent’s farm near New Waverly, Mr. & Mrs. Charles B. Reed.  Marcella graduated in 1935 from New Waverly High School.  In 1939, she was married to Fredrick L. Angle of New Waverly, and they had four sons, two of whom died in infancy.  Fredrick preceded her in death in 1961, and she spent the rest of her days on the Angle property.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one infant sibling, three sisters, Cleo Doran, Dorothy Bailey, and Lucille Robertson; one brother, Charles Bailey; one son, James Angle; and one great-grandchild, Bradley Hensley.

She is survived by one brother, Robert Bailey, Pulaski, Tennessee; one son, Steven Angle, New Waverly; three grandchildren, Shawnn Angle, Peru; Kelly Angle Markley, Nixa, Missouri; and Wendy Angle, Springfield, Missouri; six great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews and their families.

Mrs. Angle spent most of her adult life as a proud homemaker, and had worked for a few years at J.C. Penny in Logansport.  She was a member of the New Waverly E.U.B. Church, now the New Waverly United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling, and most of all, her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the New Waverly United Methodist Church with Pastor Gail Law officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at McClain Funeral Home Denver.
