Eric Jeffery Allman

Eric Jeffery Allman, 73, rural Peru, passed away at 8:48 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019, at his residence.

Born January 18, 1946, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Harry Clarence Allman and the former Mary Juanita Smith.  He was married to the former Mary Ann Clark, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 1999.  He was then united in holy matrimony to Joyce Ann Kellams.

Eric attended North Miami High School and was a member of the class of 1964.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Bruce Lake, Indiana, and for many years was an independent contractor, delivering newspapers in several nearby communities.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Kellams, Peru; nine children, Donna Michelle Miller, Indianapolis; Michael Wayne (Lisa) Allman, Rochester; Mark Anthony Allman, Indianapolis; Meana Jane McVey, Lebanon; Erica Jane Allman, Winamac; John Steven (Alicia) Allman, Kewanna; Mary Ruth (Karen) Allman, Culver; Tim Gochenour, Deedsville; and Brent Gochenour, Macy; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Ealy, Peru; and his beloved Yorkshire Terriers, Tuff, Zoey, and Lilly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Allman; one son, Rusty Gochenour; son-in-law, Mike Miller; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with his daughter, Ruth Allman, officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bruce Lake, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
