Esther Frick

Esther Frick, 99, North Manchester, and formerly of Mexico where she lived for ninety-eight years, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana.

Born May 13, 1909 on her family's farm east of Mexico, she was the daughter of Lewis and Mary Ida Bish Frick.

She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church at Mexico where she served as a church pianist, Sunday school teacher, and along with her sister and mother served as a communion steward. She retired from G.C. Murphy and Co. in Peru after almost thirty years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and needlepoint.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Frick, North Manchester; her nephew, Rev. David Overmyer and wife Karen, North Manchester; two great-nieces, Kristin Harp and husband Adam and their children, Aubrey and Brody, Burket, Indiana; and Kelly Harp and husband Isaac, Peru, Indiana; one great-nephew, Kyle Overmyer, Terre Haute, Indiana;

One brother, Lyman B. Frick, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico with Pastor Sam Polito officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Friends are invited to call from 4-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
