Eugene Anderson

Eugene Anderson, 89, Logansport, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at McKinney Place, Logansport.

Born December 31, 1926, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of William Richard and Minnie Belle Thompson Anderson.  On May 20, 1950, he was married to the former Jane Watson, and she survives.

He was a member of Yorktown Road Church of Christ, Logansport, and a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Europe.  He was retired as a civil service employee from Grissom Air Force Base, where he worked as a carpenter in the residential areas of the base.  He had also worked for two years at Fort Benjamin Harrison, ten years at Cummins Diesel, and at Cosco, both in Columbus, Indiana.

Survivors include one son, John P. Anderson and wife Margaret, Twelve Mile; two grandchildren, Laura Goshert, Peru; and Eric M. Avery, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Kali Baker, Peru; McKenzie Anderson, Peru; Janie Taylor, Peru; Eli Goshert, Peru, and Arial and Jonathon Avery, both of Kokomo; two great-great grandchildren, Kingston and Jennings Brown; one brother, Burton Anderson and wife Louise, Lexington, Kentucky; and one sister, Dorothy Nichols, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Anderson, and one grandson, John Patrick Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Preacher Tim Allen officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Corinth Brethren Cemetery, Twelve Mile.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
