It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the homegoing of First Lady Diane Harris, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 3:13 a.m. Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and spiritual leader whose life reflected her unwavering faith in God and her unconditional love for her family and community.
First Lady was born on October 20, 1945, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Paul Clark and Pearl (Ellison) Clark. She was educated within the Kokomo school system and attended Douglas School, where she developed a foundation of wisdom, strength, and resilience that carried her through life. In June 1957, Diane met the love of her life, Otis Lee Harris, a young man with a calling on his life. Their love blossomed, and they were united in holy matrimony on November 10, 1961, marking the beginning of a 63-year journey filled with love, ministry, and partnership. Diane served faithfully by her husband's side as the First Lady of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church—a role she embraced with humility and dedication. Together, they led countless souls to Christ and provided spiritual guidance to their congregation. First Lady and Bishop Harris were blessed with seven children, each a reflection of their mother's nurturing spirit and steadfast faith. She was also the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished and mentored with her unconditional love and guidance.
Diane's life was centered around her faith, family, and service. She was an exemplary First Lady, supporting her husband in ministry and ensuring that every church event reflected her love and dedication to God's work.
She had a passion for crafting, watching her favorite basketball teams: LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors, making blankets, family vacations, and taking rides with her husband.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Pearl Clark; her sister, Janice Randall; and her brother Paul Clark Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Bishop Otis Lee Harris, Children;
Darlene Smith (Lee), Tina Smith (Jay), Kim Green, Otis Green Jr. (Rita), Regina Green (Lamont), DeShanna Harris (Aj), and LeeAnn Harris (Aaron).
First Lady also leaves behind numerous grandchildren:
