Florence A. Hileman, 89, Twelve Mile, passed away at 11:24 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born Aug. 3, 1919 in Cass County to John Henery and Martha Ann Binney Hoover. On Sept. 9, 1939 she was married to John Alvin Hileman at the home of the late Rev. C. F. Golden near Chili. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1995.

She was an active member of Skinner Worship Chapel near Twelve Mile where she taught Sunday School, played the piano, and lead singing during Sunday School and worship services. She enjoyed babysitting for friends and neighbor children and was called Grandma by many. She will be remembered for her apple pies, potato salad and her love of teaching young girls how to make apple pies and noodles.

Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Hileman, Indianapolis, and John R. Hileman, Twelve Mile; two grandchildren, John "Rob" Hileman and wife Tammy, Peru, and Drina Beety and husband Mike, Logansport; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Ingram Sibley, Logansport; one brother-in-law, Charles D. Young, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Jeanne Hileman; four sisters and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at Skinner Chapel, 6814 N 1050 East, Denver, with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating.

Burial will follow at Chili Cemetery in Chili.
