Gertrude R. Townsend

Gertrude R. Townsend, 91, Twelve Mile, passed away at 4:46 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Chase Center, Logansport.

Born on December 26, 1922 in Adams Township, Cass County, she was one of the fourteen children of John and Pearl Vanatta Musselman. On March 11, 1950, in Logansport, Indiana, she was married to George Lowell Townsend, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1993.

She retired from Torin Manufacturing in Rochester, Indiana where she worked in quality control.

Surviving are three children, Wanda Moss and husband Jeff, Twelve Mile; and two sons, Robert Jay Townsend, Logansport; and Randy Lee Townsend and his wife Leslie, Twelve Mile; four grandchildren, Wade Moss and his wife Deborah, Rochester; Michael Moss and wife Kristie, Rochester; Austin Townsend, Twelve Mile; and Allen Townsend; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leonard Musselman, Twelve Mile.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis George Townsend; and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Twelve Mile.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Mount Carmel Cemetery Association.
