Granville D Hattery

Granville D. Hattery, 85, of Rochester, Indiana, and formerly of Macy, passed away at 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport.

Born March 20, 1932, in Union Township, Miami County, he was the son of William Ernest and Gayle (Keim) Hattery.  On September 21, 1952, he was married to the former Anita K. “Ann” Warner, and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2002.  He was then married on June 12, 2004, in Rochester, Indiana, to Barbara Goss Williams, who survives.

Granville was member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren where he served as Sunday school class President and formerly as a Trustee; he also attended Fulton United Methodist Church.  He was a 1950 graduate of Deedsville High School and a lifelong farmer.  An active member of his community, Granville was a member of the Lincoln Lodge-Macy, Indiana, and had served on the Allen Township Advisory Board, North Miami School Board, Mexico Elevator Board, and the P.C.A. Board of Miami County.  As an avid sports fan, Granville enjoyed attending North Miami and Caston sporting events and watching basketball, a sport which he had the opportunity to serve as a referee for several years.  He enjoyed Purdue basketball, fishing, dominoes, and playing cards in various card clubs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Gina Hattery, Macy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and
Gary Halterman; Lisa and David Halterman, all of Macy; and Krista and Conrad Warder, Peru; one step-son, Gary Williams and wife Beth Anne, Rochester; one step-daughter, Beth Burton and husband Wendell, Rochester; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one brother, Max Hattery and wife Sue, Macy; and four sisters-in-law, Delores Hattery, Peru; Nada Miller, Jeffersonville; Rosie Linn, Macy; and Barbara Warner, Peru.

One brother, Kenneth E. Hattery, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Mexico Church of the Brethren with Pastor Matt Myers officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mexico Church of the Brethren, Fulton United Methodist Church, or Greenlawn Cemetery Association.
