Hal Wayne McClain, 72, Denver, Indiana passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, shortly after he collapsed at his home.

Born April 11, 1941 in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Tracy Earl and Keturah Elizabeth Cutshall McClain. On October 11, 1980 at St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Kokomo, he was married to Nancy Kay Fulk, and she preceded him in death on August 12, 1993.

Hal was the owner and President of McClain Funeral Home in Denver, Indiana where he began as an employee fifty years ago. He purchased the funeral home in 1970 and was proud to serve the North Miami Community and surrounding area his entire career as a funeral director. He was active in his community and was a member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include his three sons, Ryan Allen and his wife Charlene, Sheridan; Bradley Andrew, Peru; and Jayke Allen, Peru; three grandchildren, Tyler Phillip, Allyson Taylor, and Elijah Michael; four sisters-in-law, Betty Anne McClain, Lancaster, PA; Virginia Joan Fulk, Terre Haute; Edna Ruth Fulk, Muncie; and Georgia Fulk, Terre Haute. He is also survived by his closest friends and work family, Ron Fites, Macy; Bill and Shirley Coahran, Macy; Jo Willis, Macy; and Bill and Nancy McGuire, Mexico. He is also survived by his three beloved dachshunds, Zacky, Flen, and Trevor.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Barbara Stoner and Donna Welty, and three brothers, Eugene, Oden, and Bernard McClain.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Mexico Church of the Brethren with Pastor Don Ritchey, Pastor Steve Ailes, and Pastor Dave Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.

Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
