Harry E. Knauff, Jr., 78, Denver, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his daughter’s residence in Wabash County.
Born January 5, 1939, in Perrysburg, Indiana, he was the son of Harry E. Knauff, Sr. and Audrey Viola Grandstaff Knauff. On February 16, 1958, he was married to the former Carolyn Ruth Mongosa who passed away last Sunday, December 10, 2017.
Mr. Knauff was a member of the former Perrysburg Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge at Macy, Indiana. He was retired from General Motors Corporation and was a man of many talents, including welding, woodworking, excavation work, fence building, building log homes, and even operating a sawmill. For over thirty-five years, Harry, along with his wife Carolyn, had participated in historical reenactments.
He is survived by six children, Justin and Vanessa Knauff, Denver; Elvin and Velvet Knauff, Denver; Carrie Knauff, Denver; Florence and Howard Tigler, Wabash; Vincent and Jean Knauff, Peru; and Anthony and Carla Knauff, Denver; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David L. Knauff and wife Becky; and Dennis L. Knauff and wife Jeannie, all of Perrysburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Beacher.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Bill Babb officiating.
