Harry D. Van Dalsen, Sr., 85, Macy, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024, at his residence.
Born March 9, 1939, at the family farm north of Macy, Indiana, he was the son of Deverl N. and Margaret L. (Fitzpatrick) Van Dalsen. He was a proud lifelong resident of the great town of Macy, Indiana.
After twenty years as a conductor on the C & O Railroad and working as an auctioneer, he retired in 2003, as head of the Quality Department at Fulton Industries, Inc. in Rochester. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a hunter always in pursuit of mushrooms, fox, boar, bear, and antelope.
Survivors include his son, Harry D. (Tracey) Van Dalsen, Jr.; daughters, L. Jewel Van Dalsen, L. Jill (Mike) Young, L. Jane (Jeff) Mullikin, and Haley Denise Van Dalsen; nine grandchildren; many cousins; brother-in-law, James O. Prior, and his children, Troy (Lisa) Prior, Lori (Mark) Rusie, Missy (Jeff) Woolever; and three ex-wives, Lorene, Judy, and Patsy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Kay Prior.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Macy Food Pantry or Plainview Cemetery.
