Inalee D (Metzger) Brown

August 24, 1938 — August 3, 2015

Inalee Dorabelle Metzger Brown, 76, Denver, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Vibra Hospital, Ft. Wayne.

Born August 24, 1938, in Miami County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Alvin Harold and Mary Margaret Fisher Metzger.  On June 23, 1956, she was married to Ralph Dale Brown, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2011.

She was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where she served as worship leader.  Over the years, she also served as song leader at Olive Branch Church of God and Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  Inalee was a bus driver for North Miami School Corporation, retiring after thirty years of service, and for many years, she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Miami County.  She loved spending time in her yard, her many canine companions over the years, and loved all sports, especially IU basketball.

She is survived by her children, Merlin D. Brown, Denver; Monica S. Lowe (Mark), Twelve Mile; Martin H. Brown (Shawn), Wabash; and Melody L. Yocum (David), Denver; nine grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Lowe, Twelve Mile; Tony Brown, Indianapolis; Joey Brown, San Diego; Austin Brown, Indianapolis; Drew Yocum, Ft. Worth, TX; Damon Yocum, Tipton; Dylan Yocum, Denver; and Allison Myers, Denver; two great-grandchildren, Airane and Cooper; and two brothers, Maxfield Metzger (Joann), Royal Center; and Dal Metzger (Judee), Peru.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Grace Pointe Church at the Miami County Fairgrounds, where visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Wayne Balmer and Pastor Rick Stone will officiate at the services.  She will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana.
