Iris Elise Lambert Delawder, 81, after being a victim of Alzheimer's Disease for several years, passed on to her eternal home at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
Born April 5, 1930 in Frankfort, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lossie R. and Bessie E. Klotz Lambert. On October 2, 1949 in Frankfort, Indiana she was married to Phillip Lynd Delawder, and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2011.
She was active in the Macy Methodist Church, Macy Firefighter's Auxiliary, and the rest of the community. She loved to travel and meet new people. Every stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet.
Survivors include four daughters, Marsha Lynn Adams and husband Richard of Hideaway, Texas; Nancy Kaye Eppert and husband John, Independence, Missouri; Karen Sue Wilhelm and husband Mark, Perrysburg, Indiana; and Judy Ann Delawder, Stockdale, Indiana; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and three brothers, Ed Lambert and wife Betty, Scottsdale, AZ; John Lambert and wife Pat; Mineola, TX; and Bill Lambert and wife Alex, Saugus, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Pastor David Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, September 22, 2011 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Alzheimer's Association.
