J. Frances (Fisher) Hiers

J. Frances (Fisher) Hiers, 95, Bunker Hill, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2025, at her residence. 

Born on September 4, 1928, in Bunker Hill, Indiana, she was the daughter of Paul H. and Velma M. (Clannin) Fisher. On December 5, 1952, she was married to Ira J. “Ike” Hiers, and he preceded her in death in 1984. 

Survivors include two children, Eric J. (Deb) Hiers, Mentone; and Krista Szczepankowski, Peru; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Melissa, and Chester, and their families; her companion of thirty-five years, Billy Stuber, Bunker Hill; and his sisters, Nancy Hostetler and Connie Wooten. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one son, Mark Edward Hiers; sister, Bonnie Marie Besset; son-in-law, Chester, Szczepankowski.

Private services were held for the family. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
