James Mark Converse

James Mark Converse, 78, Deedsville, passed away Tuesday morning at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Born July 10, 1938, in Huntington, Indiana, he was the son of Fred Elmo and Louella Johnston Converse.  On February 5, 1960, in Huntington, Indiana, he was married to Margot Medinger, and she survives.

Jim was an active and faithful member of The Cross in Rochester, Indiana.  He retired as a Conductor from the C & O Railroad, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, reading, and working as a handyman, able to fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, Margot Converse, Deedsville; children, Patricia Ann Davis, James Nicholas Converse, Thomas Wesley (wife Cathy) Coverse, and John Paul Converse, all of Miami County; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, JoAnn Yates, Elkhart.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.

Military Honors and A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at The Cross, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Clout officiating.

A time of visitation with family and friends will be from 2-4:00 p.m. on Friday before the services.
