James Leores Friend

James Leores Friend, 68, passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor, Peru, Indiana.

Born November 1, 1944 in Peru, Indiana he was the son of the late Gerald D. and Eva M. Warner Friend. On November 24, 1982, he was married to the former Judy E. Myers at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church near Logansport, and she survives.

Jim was an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport where he had served as an Elder and went on the Mission Trip to Alaska. He had been a member of the Board at Geneva Center, serving the Presbytery of the Wabash Valley. Jim retired in 1997 from Hendrickson Autos in Logansport.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Rochester; three daughters, Samantha Ward and husband Brian, Denver; Jennifer Sprague and husband Matt, Westfield; and Trisha Spencer and husband Jeremy, Rochester; seven grandchildren, Randy Ward, Marc Ward, Robby Sprague, James "Harry" Sprague, Essie Ward, Jacob Spencer, and James Anthony Ward; one brother, William Friend and wife Ann, Macy; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

[PENDING] A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Calvary Presbyterian Church with Pastor Doug Mankell, Pastor Stephen Quinlan, and Pastor George Hapner officiating.

[PENDING] Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church-Good Samaritan Fund.

McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana has been entrusted with arrangements.
