James D. Grimes

James Dean Grimes, 79, Peru, passed away at 1:17 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.
Born September 27, 1931 in Denver, Indiana he was the son of Clinton Dean and Winifred Carson Grimes. On October 12, 1952 in Peru, Indiana he was married to Marcia Ann Howard, and she survives.
James retired from the United States Air Force in the early 1970's. He then worked for several years at the foundry in Rochester. For many years he volunteered for the Miami County YMCA mowing and watering the soccer fields.
Surviving along with his wife are two children, Howard D. Grimes and wife Diane, Pullman, WA; and Kathi A. Beaver and husband Paul, Crystal River, Florida; three grandchildren, Matthew Grimes, Benjamin Grimes, and Lyndi Lancaster; two great grand children Bayley Lancaster and Anthony Hubartt.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver with Pastor Phil Crue officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:30-1:30 p.m. at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Miami County YMCA.
