James Bruce Lamb, 80, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
Born August 21, 1935, in in Amboy, Indiana, he was the son of Herman “Kasey” and Charlotte Waters Lamb. On April 18, 1969, in Amboy, Indiana, he was married to the former Shirley Jean Gould, and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2014.
Jim was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico. He retired from Nipsco, and he was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion, as well the Peru Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener, fondly nicknamed, “The Tomato Man.”
He is survived by one son, David Eric Lamb and his wife Jennifer, Peru; one daughter, Julia Jean Lamb Glessner, Warren, Indiana; grandchildren, Shannon Nicole Lamb-Rector, Florida; Aaron J. Lamb, Rochester; Sara E. Hovermale, Denver; Stephanie Jean Glessner, Warren, Indiana; Jordon J. Lamb and Morgan L. Lamb, Peru; and five great-grandchildren; four siblings, Donnita Rogers and companion Don, Houston, Texas, Joyce and Paul Nobbe, Connersville, John Lamb, currently teaching in Palau, Micronesia, and Mark Lamb, Connersville.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Thomas Lamb and Kevin Gray Lamb.
Vistation will be from 2-7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Military rites with full interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
