James Alan Mull, 75, Denver passed away Thursday evening, September 16, 2010 in his home on his family farm.
Born November 3, 1934 in Richland Township, Miami County, he was the son of Charles Benjamin and Edith Edna Ridenour Muhl. On September 1, 1961 in Sarasota, Florida he was married to Shirley Ann Walker, and she survives.
He was a lifetime member of the Chili United Methodist Church, Chili. He was active in Miami County Farm Bureau, and he served with the National Guard for over nine years.
Jim's parents bought the family farm near Denver in 1950 and since then the family has raised hogs and farmed grain. Before starting to farm full-time, Jim worked nine years at Chrysler in Kokomo as an Inspector. He was a master of farm construction and loved inventing things for use on the farm, which he so dearly loved.
He was a 1952 graduate of Chili High School and went on to attend Manchester College and Florida State University where he studied accounting.
Surviving besides his wife are two children Susan J. Smith and husband Kerry, Denver; and Dr. Michael W. Mull and wife Lynn, Peru; one grandson, Jacob D. Mull, Peru; two step-grandchildren, Noelle Ray, Marion, and Marissa Ray, Peru.
One brother, Richard "Dickie" Muhl, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at McClain Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chili Cemetery, Chili.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
