James Harvey “Jim” Sherrick, 70, Twelve Mile, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born May 22, 1947, in Sheridan, Indiana, he was the son of Carl David Sherrick, Sr. and Mildred Phillips Sherrick. On December 24, 1969, in Logansport, Indiana, he was married to the former Midge Helms, and she survives.
He was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam in 1967-68 as part of the Second Squadron of the First Calvary, Fourth Infantry Division. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. He had retired from Wilson Foods and had also worked at Modine.
Survivors include his wife, Midge Sherrick, Twelve Mile; three sons, John Sherrick, Twelve Mile; Aaron (Jen) Sherrick, Westfield; and Matt (Nanette) Sherrick, Logansport; and one, daughter Danielle (Clif) Brewster, Windfall; ten grandchildren, Madison, Christian, Connor, Caleb, Nate, Dean, Jullina, Myles, Jarett, and Colton; one brother, Carl David Sherrick, Jr. (companion, Lucy Tonsoni), LaPorte; and sister, Gayle (William) Pugh, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Shirley Roe, and brothers Clyde and Gerald Sherrick.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Metea Baptist Church, Metea.
A time of visitation with the family will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, has been entrusted with arrangements.
