Joellen (Howard) Sharp, 81, Peru, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, at her residence.
Born June 24, 1941, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harry Dallas “Dutch” Howard and Martha L. (Cover) Howard. On May 24, 1985, she was married to James Rodger Sharp, and he survives.
Joellen was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Logansport, Indiana, and she had attended Holy Trinity in Peru before its closing. She had retired from North Central Coop in Wabash and had also worked at Senger’s and Square D in Peru. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and family time more than anything-especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Sharp, Peru; daughter, Nikki (Darryl) Pugh, Peru; grandsons, Dawson and Trace Pugh, Peru; brother, Jon R. (Sue) Howard, Wabash; stepson, James E. Sharp, Peru; daughter-in-law, Lorna D. Harbaugh, Kokomo; and several step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Danna Bonfiglio; sisters, ReJene Tatum, Nell Jane Fouts, and Joyce Ann Mounts; an infant brother, James Darwin Howard; and stepson, Michael J. Sharp.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Logansport, with Fr. Clark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, Logansport.
