Juanita Pearl Sunday, 93, Denver, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her residence.
Born January 3, 1928, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Fred E. and Loree Helen (Howell) McGuire. On September 6, 1947, in Bloomington, Indiana, she was married to her childhood sweetheart, John E. Sunday, and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2007.
She graduated from Jefferson Township High School and was a member of the Denver Baptist Church. She worked at several places over the years, including a bubble-light factory and at the North Miami school cafeteria. She was a professional baby-sitter for her family and took her role as the official lawnmower for her family with great pride, mowing all of her families yards with perfectly straight lines on her John Deere lawnmower. She was looking forward to getting back to work this summer. She lived for her family and loved her role as mom and grandma, taking care of her family and even teaching them life-lessons such as “learning how to mow your own yard in your sixties.”
Survivors include her two children, Rebecca L. (Dana) Lytle, and Robert E. (Kathy) Sunday, all of Denver; six grandchildren, Jon David Wright, Denver; Chad W. (Maribeth) Wright, Roann; David G. (Cheryl) Sunday, Denver; Brianne Loree (Jacob) Chumbley, Denver; Katie (Martin) Dych, Lawrence; and Ron W. (Beth) Lytle, Ossian; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother Dean McGuire, Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Charles “Freddy” McGuire; son-in-law, David D. Wright; and one grandson, Dana A. Lytle
