Larry W Truax

Larry W. Truax, 75, Peru, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his residence.

Born April 9, 1939 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late William Clayton and Elma Blossom Study Truax.  He had been married to the former June Jameson, and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2013.

He was a US Marine, and he served from 1957-1963.

He was a construction worker, and he worked for Drew Corporation and was a member of Laborers International Union of North America, Local 274. He was also a member of the Chapel of Praise and Eagles Lodge of Peru, and the NRA.

He was an avid news watcher, staying abreast of current events.  He had been a mechanic for many years working on cars and doing auto restorations.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Troy Truax and wife Andrea, Peru; Todd Truax and wife Julie, Peru; and Toni Truax, Peru; his grandchildren, Daniel Baker, Brandon Baker, Deiandra Baker, Whitney Truax, Maggie Truax, Rachel Truax, Bryce Tristen Truax, Alisah Devon Truax, Ty William Truax, and Kaylaa Vanhoose, all of Peru; and Jamie Lee Hurlburt, Remington; great grandchildren,  Trinity Ash, Blayde Baker, Maddie Baker, Chloie Baker, Maliah Hurlburt, Camille Kellems, Evelyn Sowl, Matthew Vanhoose, Hollie, Haylie, Morgan, Kevin, and McKinzie Hurlburt, and Jace Michael Sheppard, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Growing up, he shared his childhood with his siblings, Alma (Jim) Ensor of Wabash; Bonnie Woodhouse of Xenia, Ohio, Anita Wentze, Frances Dorn, and Bill, Norman, Dwayne, and Clayton Truax.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Rev. Dick Wiles officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico with military rites by the Miami County Military Rites Team.

Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of service on Monday.
