Robert Lee Blue and Marjorie Joan Blue, both 81, of Rochester and formerly of Miami County, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 near Tampa, Florida as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Bob and Marge were both born July 22, 1928. They were married on October 15, 1949 in Cass County and had just celebrated sixty years of marriage.

Bob was born in Miami County to Robert Warren and Ruth E. Bowman Blue and he graduated from Peru High School. He was a member of the Macy Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, Ft. Wayne Valley. He enjoyed woodworking and the fellowship with his friends at breakfast in Rochester. Bob began his career with the Nickel-Plate Railroad and retired from Norfolk-Southern as the station agent in Bluffton, Indiana.

Marge was born in Howard County, Indiana to Charles T. and Thelma Eldridge Polk. She spent most of her adolescent years in the home of Charles and Ella Woods in Onward where she helped in their general store. Marge was a hospitality expert and enjoyed hosting guests in her home at the lake. She was an excellent cook, and had worked for several years as an Avon representative.

Together, Bob and Marge attended the First Baptist Church in Rochester where they had made their church home for the past several years and had formerly attended the Peru Grace Brethren Church. Bob and Marge enjoyed camping for many years with the Miami County Campers. They loved playing in neighborhood card games in Rochester, Peru, and in Florida.

Bob and Marge retired in Rochester on Lake Manitou where they were active in the Lake Manitou Association.

Survivors include their children, Linda Jo Davenport, Rochester; and son Gregory Alan Blue and wife Teresa, Fifield, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Joseph Davenport and wife Jackie, Phoenix, Arizona and their children, Kaily and Kaiden; Jessie Davenport, Rochester; Jodie Davenport, Bloomington; Kelly Blue, Waukesha, Wisconsin; and Katie Schilling and husband Daniel, Oostburg, Wisconsin.

Marge leaves behind her brother, Sylvan "Pete" Polk and his wife Kathy Sue, Peru and their children, James Polk and wife Christel, Patrick Polk and wife Deidre, Jacqueline Sipe and husband David, and Nancy Gariss and husband Dennis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Peru Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Mark Spencer, Pastor Dave Jodry, and Pastor Ronald Bowland officiating.

Friends may call from 2-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
