Martha J. McHenry, 96, of Brownsburg, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Hendricks Regional Health.
Born August 3, 1913 in Armstrong, Illinois, she was the daughter of Fred C. and Ada Wernick Green of Twelve Mile, Indiana. On April 6, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana she was united in marriage to Denver, Indiana resident, William R. McHenry. They lived in Denver until 1992 when they moved to Brownsburg to be near family.
A 1931 graduate of Twelve Mile High School, she was a former member of the Twelve Mile and Denver United Methodist Churches, Vashti Chapter, No. 551 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Jack McHenry, and wife Nancy, Brownsburg; a daughter, Jane Moon and husband Don, Brandon, Florida; three granddaughters, Angela Wiliford and husband Ed; Carmen Swalley, and Sara Potts; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Hegel, Wabash, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Bonnie Jean McHenry, two sisters, Helen Bookwalter and Rosa Green, and one brother, Floyd Green.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
