Marvelene M. Wheetley, 84, Mexico, passed away at 6:17 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Peru, surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 27, 1939, in Dunkin County, Missouri, she was the daughter of Carl Matthew and Lorene (Benson) Jenkins.  On August 28, 1959, she was married to Franklin D. Wheetley, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1998.

Marvelene enjoyed being outside in God’s creation, tending to her flowers and yard.  She loved being with her family and believed everyday was a good day to get together with those she loved.

Survivors include her two daughters, Delores A. (Bryan) Reed, Peru; Lisa M. Reed, Peru; nine grandchildren; eleven-ish great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carolyn Blankenship, Helen Jenkins, and, Eddie Jenkins, all of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, Ronnie Lee Wheetley, and Terry G. Wheetley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.  Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
