Marvin Leo Jones, 88, Mexico passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
Born December 18, 1922 in Kouts, Indiana he was the son of Myron and and Lois F. Rinker Jones. On March 16, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana he was married to Maribel J. Kern, and she preceded him in death in January 2003.
He was a member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren where he faithfully served for many years. He was a charter member of the Mexico Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Muncie Masonic Lodge. He retired from Frances Slocum Bank in 1995 ending a long career in banking that began at Peru Trust Company. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII in Europe.
Survivors include two sons, Kerny C. Jones and wife Mary Kaye, Peru; and Kenny L. Jones and wife Judy, Logansport; four grandchildren, Sean J. Jones, Samantha M. Malott, Keenan Jones, and Marvin Jones; one brother, Eugene Jones, Anderson; two sisters, Suze Williamson, Anderson; and Lois Boydstun.
One brother Robert Jones preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Pastor Dave Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Friends may call from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
