Maryanna Walton, 84, Peru, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Florida Hospital-Waterman Campus in Tavres, Florida.
Born August 12, 1925 in Cass County, she was the daughter of Marion Franklin and Etta Blanche Graft Swank. On September 29, 1944 at the home of her parents in Adams Township, Cass County, she was married to Lewis B. Walton. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2000.
She was a member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren where she was active in women's fellowship, and she was a Disaster Response Volunteer.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Annette Elkins and husband Richard, Texas; four grandchildren, Todd Elkins, San Antonio; Miale Garza, San Antonio; Tekoa Bean, Port Richey, Florida; and Marisa Bejar, Newport, Rhode Island, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Alan Walton, who was killed in action in the Vietnam War. Also preceding in death were her sisters, Margaret E. Burrous, Elmira Kimpel Brown, and Myrtle Swank, and one brother, James E. Swank.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Mexico Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dave Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
