Nancy Jane (Baber) Sarver, Peru, and formerly of Denver, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.
Born on May 9, 1940, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Calvin Earl and Mabel Florence (Keesey) Baber. On August 31, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Denver, Indiana, she was married to Jerry L. Sarver, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2018.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Miami County, Indiana, and she retired as head of the kitchen at North Miami High School. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1958. Nancy had a great love for preparing food for others, and she was known for hosting many meals over the years in her home and at the farm outside of Denver, where she and her husband built their getaway, Putt Putt Acres. Her love for hosting parties brought many friends and family together at the farm for the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner on New Years Day, church services, family reunions, class reunions, and other gatherings for homemade ice cream and tables and tables full of homecooked food served in a setting decorated perfectly with antiques, artwork, and Longaberger baskets.
Nancy was talented artist, and she shared her art by creating barn quilts which can be seen all over Miami County. She enjoyed hosting painting parties and the fellowship created with friends coming together to share a common hobby.
Nancy was a lifelong member of the Denver Baptist Church at Denver, Indiana. She was very active in the North Miami Community and helped with events at the school, Lions Club Dinners, tractor club gatherings, 4-H activities, and just about anything else that she was asked to bring a dish to share with others.
Nancy will be remembered by her two daughters, Barbara (Ronnie) Krisher, Denver; Sandi (Scott) Hoffman, Indianapolis; one son David (Shelly) Sarver, Denver; four grandchildren, Teri Krisher (Andy) Ammerman, Peru; Ayrton (Gina) Arwood, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Addison (Dustin) Lawson, Rochester; and Aiden Sarver, Denver; and four great–grandchildren, Connor and Jack Ammerman, and Avrey and Myles Arwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Richard, and Kenny Baber; and sister, Mary Eldonna Blacketor
