Following the burial in California on Wednesday of Naomi Kessler, mother of Stephen Kessler (Donna Anderson), the family will share memories during the Beth Israel Center evening minyan on Thursday afternoon/evening.

to join the minyan, which begins at 5:30pm (Central Time) Thursday, September 17.


Naomi was a beloved grandmother to Diana (Jesse) Owens, Lauren (Steve) Erro, Alan Kessler, Jake (Rachel) Kessler, Betsy Kessler (Jordann Hoelzel), Hannah Kessler (Adam Lombardi) and Sarah (Zachary) Masa-Myers; great grandmother to Gwenn, Maverick, Ruby, Hazel, Noa, Atticus, and Cal.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Joseph Kessler, and brother, Sherman Remais. She is survived by her sister, Estelle Lilienthal.

There will be a Shiva Minyan for Naomi Kessler Wednesday, September 16, 2020 , on Zoom, starting at 6:00 PM (Pacific Time). I know this is a little early for some, but Steve Kessler lives in Madison Wisconsin, which is two hours later than us.

After a quick Ma’ariv service, we will share thoughts and memories of Naomi.

Naomi Kessler, 91, formerly of Anaheim, CA, passed away Saturday morning, September 12, 2020, in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

Born August 8, 1929, in Brooklyn, New, York, she was the daughter of Joseph Remais and the former Sarah Apter.  She was married on October 3, 1946, to the late Joseph Kessler.

She was a founding member and religious school educator at Temple Beth Emet, Anaheim

Survivors include her children, Phillip Kessler (Kathleen Allenbach), San Diego, California; Stephen Kessler (Donna Anderson), Fitchburg, Wisconsin; and Kenneth (Denise) Kessler, Westminster, Colorado; grandchildren, Jacob Kessler, Elizabeth Kessler, Hannah Kessler, Sarah Masa-Myers, Diana Owens, Allen Allenbach, Lauren Erro Great Grandchildren: Ruby Kessler, Hazel Kessler, Noa Kessler-Hoelzel, Atticus Kessler-Hoelzel, Cal Kessler-Hoelzel; Gwynn Owens, Maverick Owens; and sister, Estelle Lilienthal.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Sherman Remais;

Graveside services are pending at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Commerce, CA.
