Peggy Joyce Moore

March 21, 1930 — March 18, 2025

Denver, Indiana

Peggy Joyce Moore, 94, formerly of Denver, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Hickory Creek of Peru.

Born March 21, 1930, in Tiffin, Ohio, she was the daughter of William McKinley Hatfield and Ophelia Price Hatfield. In August 1950, she was married to Marvin Dean Moore, and he preceded in death on March 9, 2023.

Peggy was supervisor at AGP in Peru for many years and had also worked for Hausske Harlan and Kofabco, where she finally retired. She was an avid crafter, creating many items with a needle and thread, crochet hook, or any three items she was handed and could figure out how to fit them together just perfectly. She was an avid writer and later in life she bought her first computer and taught herself how to write and edit her many short stories and document her family history. She connected with many people throughout the country with her love for Genealogy. Her family will remember her talents with the many treasures she created for them over the years.

Survivors include five children, Pastor Ron (Marsha) Moore, Syracuse; Estel Dean Moore, Bennetts Switch; Patricia Marie (Dennis) Garvin, Peru; Margie Dawn Stevenson, Grabill; and Michael (Shirley “Pinky”) Moore, Chili; seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; and nearly nine great-great grandchildren, just depending on how events progress this week. One sister, Janice Wilson, survives in Kentucky.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, McKinley Hatfield; and one daughter-in-law, Roberta (Feller) Moore.

A private family service was held on Friday, March 21, 2025, on Peggy’s ninety-fifth birthday, at McClain Funeral Home. She was laid to rest with her husband at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Condolences may be left online at www.mcclainfh.com. McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, has been entrusted with arrangements.
