Ray Emerson Michael, 79, Denver, Indiana, passed away on October 13, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor in Peru.
Born February 3, 1932 in Mishawaka, Indiana he was the son of the late George E. and Mary A. Glassburn Michael.
Ray retired in 1997 from North Miami Elementary School where he had worked for eighteen years as head custodian. He was a charter member and served twenty-four years with the Denver Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing and camping at Lukens Lake near Roann, Indiana. He enjoyed Notre Dame and San Francisco 49ers football as well as Jeff Gordon Racing. Ray could be found in the afternoons enjoying a healthy dose of education-watching Loony Toons and Tom and Jerry.
Survivors include one daughter, Regina Alder, Delphi; one son, Brian Michael, Logansport; one brother Ronald Lee Michael, Mexico; and his companion Beverly Ann Clemons, Denver; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat Tommy.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Mae Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. Burial will be private on Wednesday at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
