Robert E. Kline

Robert E. “Bob” Kline, 85, Mexico, passed away on Sunday morning, October 4, 2015, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Born January 27, 1930 in Elwood, Indiana, he was the son of Herman and Bertha Lesley Kline.  On June 8, 1952, he was married to Marlene June Fitzpatrick, and she survives.

Bob had attended Jefferson Township High School.  He was a United States Army veteran, and he had retired from Pierceton Trucking in Laketon, Indiana.  He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church, Mexico Lions Club, Peru American Legion, and Peru Eagles.  He loved camping, mushroom hunting, playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Marlene, Mexico, Indiana; he is survived by two daughters, Theresa Hight and husband Alan, Peru; and Annette “Andy” Raider, and husband Fred, Denver; eight grandchildren, Tim Hight, Christopher Hight, Alicia Fuller, Ashley Yearling, Ryan Raider, Tyler Kline, Erica Kline, and Christina King; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Kline, Wabash; and Charles Kline, South Bend; three sisters, Rosie Stout, Peru; Doris Fisher, New Haven, and Barbara Burns, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David A. Kline, four brothers, John, Eugene, Richard, and Herbert Kline; and one sister, Mary Applington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Eric Alwine and Pastor Robert Stuck officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Lafayette Honor Flight.
