Russell G. "Rabbit" Thorrington, Jr., 81, Denver went to be with the Lord at 12:48 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born June 5, 1928 in Noble Township, Cass County, he was the son of Russell and Dorothy Watts Thorrington.
On October 5, 1957 in Mexico, Indiana he was married to Nellie Glen Hopper, and she preceded him in death on February 12, 2010.
He was a member of the Denver Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his winters in Watamo, Mexico.
Survivors include four children, Bruce Edward Thorrington and wife Izinia, Denver; Tammy Sue Aguirre and companion Toris Andrews, Del Ray Beach, Florida; Phillip Thorrington and wife Rhonda, Peru; and Phyllis Hart and husband Larry, Hoover; grandchildren, Ashkum, Jackie, Carol, Linda, Crystal, Jessica, Bobby, P.J. and wife Tami, Christina, Ben and wife Andrea, Wesley, Heather and Matthew; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Thorrington, one grandson, Russell Scott Thorrington and one great granddaughter, Hannah Reemer.
Fuenral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at McClain Funeral Home with Scott Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
