Sandra Catherine (Sager) Kraning

Sandra Catherine (Sager) Kraning, 80, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at The Waters of Wabash.

Born December 23, 1942, in Shenandoah County, Virginia, she was the daughter of Roscoe Richard and Frances Elizabeth (Coffman) Sager.  She was married on July 22, 1962, to Gary James Kraning, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2016.

She was a 1961 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Mt. Jackson, Virginia.  She had worked at Dukes Hospital for over ten years.  She loved sewing and spent hours working in her flower gardens.  Sandy loved visiting with people, going to the hairdresser to get her hair fixed, and being with her grandson, Jordon.

Survivors include one son, Ken Kraning, Peru; one grandson, Jordon Kraning, Peru; one sister, Linda (Daryl) Mumaw, Edinburg, Virginia; and two brothers, Charles (Pat) Sager, Quicksburg, Virgnia; and Richard (Lona) Sager, Harrisonburg, Virginia; and her beloved feline companions, Grumpy and Cali.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Anthony Kraning; and two sisters, Carolyn Phillips and JoAnn Hottinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemtery, Mexico.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
